Frustrated after we were unable to see Hanauma bay nature preserve, we took advantage of our early wake-up (6h) to head to this gorgeous place where we spent 1 hour snorkelling. Hanauma bay is really a privileged site. It is a wide sheltered bay with turquoise waters located in a volcanic ring. Hanauma bay is mainly visited for the
underwater world but the beach and the landscape are also worth the sight.
Nevertheless, we have to get to Hololulu airport by 10h to catch our flight to
Kaua'i island.
We landed at Lihue before noon, picked-up our rental car and headed to our hotel, 15mn North of Lihue.
We spent the afternoon on the southern coast of Kaua'i, Poi'pu beach, the national tropical botanical garden where we admired the
hawaiian flowers and finally Lawa'i beach where we snorkelled and enjoyed the
underwater world. All sorts of tropical colourful fishes live in the
coral reef.
