Moorish idol

Scientific name : Zanclus cornutus
Hawaïan name : Kihikihi

In spite of the very long strand ornating its dorsal spine, the Moorish idol is closer to surgeonfishes than butterflyfishes. It has either a vegetarian or carnivorous diet and lives in the coastal coral reefs.
The prominent mouth of the Moorish idol is adorned with two orange triangulary stains encircled with black.
